I’d like to tell a story about building software through relationships
Creating a strong relationship with the developers and key stakeholders that I work with is very important to me. That relationship, in my experience, can really help to smooth over any small bumps that may show up throughout the process.
On the DASH project, I worked with many developers but I was paired with one developer in particular. One of the first things that we did before our project started was to grab a conference room and start to learn a bit about each other. We talked about past experiences and skills and tried to get an understanding of each other’s workflow. After identifying each of our strengths and weaknesses we both felt more prepared to work on a team together for the first time. We worked closely in an agile process trying to anticipate each other’s next steps.
This proved to be extremely successful for both the developer and myself and I look forward to more opportunities like this.
