Learning the piano (slooooowwwlly)

In early 202o I purchased a Yamaha Digital Piano (P-45). My family (including the dog), drove a good 20 miles both ways with the roof off our Jeep Wrangler to pick it up. The roof had to be off to fit the piano in it with all of the passengers. Call me crazy, but I call me excited! 😄

I was not attracted to creating music as a kid. No one in my family played any instruments. But, I always loved music, especially Hip Hop. After seeing Dr. Dre play the piano live at the SuperBowl LVI, I knew I had to have one so that I could create music like the best. While I have yet to create music like the best, I have used the piano as an opportunity to explore my creativity and to spend time learning and exploring with my daughters.

Learning the Italian (slooooowwwlly)

The catalyst for this is travel and food. I don’t travel much but I love food. Pasta, sauce, dough hydration, food and wine pairings, and more are topics of conversation for me. I like to speak to my kids in Italian and pretend like I can follow along in movies or popular Italian culture. I also follow an Italian American Newsletter called L’Italo-Americano. Check it out if you’re also interested in Italian culture.

Note: My heritage is German, and I love learning about that culture as well. But, I find learning about the Italian culture more approachable.
